The new Pre-School Proficiency Resources and Awards scheme is designed by professionals from the sport of gymnastics and the world of education
for use in pre-school environments. FUNdamentals is a programme designed and developed by British Gymnastics in conjunction with early years specialists to help younger children from toddler to 6 years to acquire essential physical, social and emotional life skills.
The Proficiency Resources and Awards provide for the development of core gymnastics skills and are used extensively in clubs as a development tool for recreational and competitive gymnasts. The Awards go from 8 to 1 with increasing difficulty in all areas from fitness to rolling to balancing.
The new Advanced Proficiency Resources and Awards is aimed at providing rewards for the achievement of more advanced skills. The scheme offers a range of activities including Fitness, Floor, Vault & Rebound, Apparatus, Pairs & Groups, Hand Held Apparatus and Dance & Aerobics.
The Spirit Cheerleading Awards developed in conjunction with the UKCA provide a structured and progressive programme to assist in the development of cheerleading skills. The comprehensive programme includes inclusive & developmental activities particularly suitable for primary aged children and above. With 9 levels of attainment ? 1 ? 6 developing skill and ability, with 3 (Bronze, Silver and Gold) developing team-based Cheer and Pom Dance there are activities that develop - rhythm, synchronisation, vocals, routines, tumbles, jumps and stunts.
